1. Who is responsible for your personal information

Abdelhamid Ben Yahia, the sole proprietor operating Spirits Reserve, is the person responsible for protecting personal information for this store. Please use the following contact details for privacy questions, requests or complaints:

Privacy Officer: Abdelhamid Ben Yahia

Montréal, Québec H1L 3L1, Canada
Email: support@spiriitsreserve-co.com
Telephone: +1 438 387 5033
Website: spiriitsreserve-co.com

Our handling of personal information is subject to applicable Québec privacy legislation and, for activities within its scope, Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), together with other applicable mandatory requirements.

2. Information we collect and why

  • Orders and delivery: your name, contact details, billing and shipping addresses, purchased items, order amounts, order history and tracking information, to process purchases and deliver products.
  • Payments: transaction status, references and information needed to process payments with our payment providers. Card details entered at checkout are processed by the relevant payment providers.
  • Customer service: messages and attachments you send us, to answer enquiries and manage refunds, complaints and other requests.
  • Operation and security: IP addresses, browser and device information, technical logs and interactions needed to operate the store, prevent fraud and maintain security.
  • Optional advertising: browsing information and events described below, with your consent where required.

Information needed for purchases may also be used to meet accounting, tax and legal obligations. Without information essential to payment or delivery, we may be unable to fulfil an order. Refusing optional advertising uses does not prevent you from making a purchase.

3. Cookies and the Meta Pixel

Essential cookies support functions such as the shopping cart, checkout, security and remembering your preferences. The store also uses the Meta Pixel to measure advertising results and support personalised advertising.

Depending on the events configured and your choices, the Pixel may send Meta information about page visits, product views, items added to the cart, checkout activity and purchases, together with identifiers and technical information about your browser or device. Meta may associate this information with information it already holds through its services.

The Meta Pixel remains blocked until you provide consent. Our cookie banner allows you to accept or refuse optional advertising uses and change your choice afterwards. This consent is separate from accepting our sales terms. You can refuse optional advertising without losing the ability to order, and withdraw consent for future activity through the cookie preferences. You may also contact us for assistance.

You can delete cookies through your browser. Doing so does not automatically erase information already transmitted. This Privacy Policy does not itself constitute consent to advertising.

For information about Meta's own processing, please read Meta's Privacy Policy.

4. Recipients and processing outside Québec

We disclose information needed to provide our services to Shopify, technical service providers, payment providers, fulfilment suppliers in China and shipping carriers. Information shared with fulfilment partners is limited to what is needed to prepare, deliver and track your order. Meta receives advertising information according to the purposes and choices described above.

These services may involve processing outside Québec or Canada, including in the United States, China, Australia and other countries where providers operate, including Singapore for certain Shopify services. Authorities in those countries may have access under their local laws. International transfers must meet the assessment and contractual protection requirements of applicable law.

Shopify provides our ecommerce platform. Some Shopify services may also involve processing for purposes Shopify determines independently. Please consult Shopify's Consumer Privacy Policy.

We may also disclose information where required by law or where legally permitted to protect rights.

5. Retention and security

We retain personal information for as long as necessary for the purposes described, applicable legal obligations and the handling of claims. When it is no longer required, it must be securely destroyed or anonymised in accordance with applicable law. Retention periods may differ according to the type of information.

We use safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information and restrict access to authorised purposes. No system can guarantee absolute security. If a privacy incident occurs, we take the required steps to reduce risks and notify affected individuals and authorities where required by law.

6. Your choices and rights

You may submit a written request to access or correct your personal information. Where legal conditions are met, you may obtain a portable copy of computerised personal information collected from you in a structured, commonly used format. This right does not automatically extend to our analyses or inferred information.

You may withdraw consent to optional uses for the future and request deletion of information that is no longer necessary, subject to legal retention duties and exceptions. Where relevant, we will explain how withdrawing consent affects a service you have requested.

Please send requests to the Privacy Officer identified above. We may take proportionate steps to verify your identity. We respond in writing to access and correction requests within 30 days of receipt, in accordance with applicable Québec rules. Any refusal must explain the reasons and available recourse.

7. Communications and complaints

Messages needed to manage your orders are separate from promotional communications. If we offer promotional messages, they are sent with the required consent or another basis permitted by law and include a straightforward way to unsubscribe. Unsubscribe requests are processed promptly.

You may contact us with a privacy complaint. Depending on the applicable jurisdiction, you may also contact the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. Contacting us first is not a condition for exercising a statutory right.

8. Changes to this policy

We publish updates with a revised date and provide appropriate notice of significant changes. We request new consent where required by law. Updating this policy does not, by itself, authorise an incompatible new use of your personal information.
